Inner Healing
Someone once told me that the most important healing that can take
place is the healing of the soul. Your relationship with God is of
the greatest importance.
Inner Healing -- What
Is It?
Under the leadership and guidance of the Holy Spirit, Inner Healing is
the healing of broken relationships. The most important relationship
we can break is our relationship with God. We choose to break our
relationship with God, when we choose to sin.
Inner healing is the transformation of our bad or negative experiences
into positive ones.
Yes, God can heal EVERYTHING IN HIS PERFECT TIME. HE IS AMAZING.
Inner healing is a process that helps us to be who God has created us
to be. “The real me.”
Inner healing is the process of coming to accept ourselves as God
accepts us.
Inner healing is the process of coming to love ourselves as God loves
us.
Inner healing is the process of coming to love others as God loves
them.
Scriptural Basis for
Healing Inside
Great
Atonement – body, soul, spirit.
Jesus was my suffering sacrifice. He took my sin and gave me His
righteousness, so my dead spirit could be born again. Jesus
died, so that we could have New Life!
Read Isaiah 53
He bore my grief and carried my sorrows.
Verse 4-6
“Yet it was our grief He bore, our sorrows that weighed
Him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, for
his own sins! But He was wounded and bruised for our sins. He
was chastised that we might have peace; he was lashed – and we were
healed! We are the ones who strayed like sheep! We,
who left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet God laid on Him,
the guilt and sins of every one of us!
Matthew 8:17
He
carried my sickness and pains.
Verses 1-3
“Large crowds followed Jesus as He came down the hillside.
Look! A leper is approaching. He kneels before Him, worshiping.
’Sir’ the leper pleads, ‘if you want to, you can heal me.’
Jesus touches the man. ‘I want to,’ he says. ‘Be healed.’ And
instantly the leprosy disappears.”
Verse: 17
“This fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, “He took our sicknesses and
bore our diseases.”
I
Peter 2:24
-25
By His stripes we are healed.
“He
personally carried the load of our sins in his own body when he died
on the cross, so that we can be finished with sin and live a good life
from now on. For His wounds have healed ours! Like sheep you
wandered away from God, but now you have returned to your Shepherd,
the Guardian of your souls who keeps you safe from attacks.”
We
can see the following:
Jesus atoning sacrifice for my spirit. (took my sin.)
Jesus atoning sacrifice for my body. (sickness and pains.)
Jesus atoning sacrifice for my soul. (sorrows and grief)
3 John 2
Prosper and be in health as the soul prospers.
”Dear friends, I am praying that all is well with you and that your
body is as healthy as I know your soul is.”
Proverbs 18:8
Words of a talebearer are wounds, going down into the innermost parts
of the belly, into the spirit of man.
”What dainty morsels rumors are. They are eaten with great relish.”
Proverbs 18:14
Spirit of man sustains his infirmity (Amplified: Strong spirit of man
will sustain him in bodily pain or trouble.); but a wounded spirit,
who can bear?
A
man’s courage can sustain his broken body, but when courage dies, what
hope is left?
Psalm 147:3
Heals the broken-hearted, binds wounds, curing pains and sorrows.
”He heals the broken-hearted, binding up their wounds.”
Psalm 23:2, 3
Restores my soul.
He lets me rest in the meadow grass and leads me beside the quiet
streams. He restores my failing health. He helps me do what honors
him most.”
Romans 12:2
Renews our minds.
”Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but be a new and
different person with a fresh newness in all you do and think. Then
you will learn from your own experience how his ways will really
satisfy you.
Psalm 109:22, 23
Heart is wounded within me. Why? David’s heart so given to God.
Wounded because of remarks, hurtful words, accusations, deceitful
dealings.
“I
am slipping down the hill to death; I am shaken from life as easily as
a man brushes a grasshopper form his arm. My knees are weak from
fasting and I am skin and bones. I am a symbol of failure to all
mankind; when they see me they shake their heads.”
Psalm 34:18-19
Lord, near to them with broken heart, saves those with a contrite
spirit. (Contrite means crushed like powder).
“The
Lord is close to those whose hearts are breaking; he rescues those who
are humbly sorry for their sins. The good man does not escape
troubles – he has them too. But the Lord helps him in each and every
one.”
Psalm 142:7
Bring my soul out of prison that I may praise Your Name.
”Bring me out of prison, so that I can thank you. The godly will
rejoice with me for all your help.”
Jeremiah 30:17
I will restore you to health and heal your wounds.
”I will give you back your health again and heal your wounds…”
Jeremiah 29:11
I know plans I have for you, plans for welfare and not calamity, to
give you a future and a hope.
”For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans
for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
I Thessalonians 5:23
Man is a trinity – spirit, soul and body.
"May
the God of peace Himself make you entirely pure and devoted to God;
and may your spirit and soul and body be kept strong and blameless
until that day when our Lord Jesus Christ comes back again.”
2 Corinthians 5:17
We are new creatures in Christ.
”When someone becomes a Christian he becomes a brand new person
inside. He is not the same any more. A new life has begun!”
